This beautiful set is more typical example of Joy Line electric offerings. No lighted observation, no Power House transformer, but
there is the long tender. The motor from this engine would survive the transition from Girard to Marx and can be found in early M10000
Power cars.
Electric sets always came in corrugated boxes, probably because of the weight of the transformer and electric motor. The track in
this set has the tall rail of "O" gauge track but 8 sections form a 27" diameter circle. The transformer also survived into the Marx
era and was later modified into the familiar round cornered 709.
